The early years of your child’s life can be rewarding, but they can also be some of the most isolating. The unfortunate truth is that once your baby is born, your priorities instantly shift, which can affect your previous friendships. Plus, you now spend a lot of your time tending to your baby and sticking closely to a routine that doesn’t leave you with a ton of opportunities to get out and meet new families. If you’re looking for a way to build some connections, you should consider trying a mommy and me class. Not only will you be able to chat with other parents, but you will also have a fun time encouraging your child’s development. Here are my favorite mommy and me classes in Northern Virginia.
9518 Workhouse Way Building 4, Lorton, Virginia 22079
Music Together Vivo is a mommy and me class that uses the power of music to help your Northern Virginia child learn. The classes take place in several locations, including Nativity Lutheran Church, Messiah United Methodist Church, and Workhouse Arts Center. They offer babies-only courses as well as classes for people of mixed ages. Your child will sing along, dance, and play kid-friendly instruments.
12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 324, Fairfax, Virginia 22035
The Fairfax County Library regularly hosts storytime classes for Northern Virginia moms and kids of all ages. Your child can start out with a baby storytime, where they will sit in your lap and listen to stories and songs. Toddler storytimes are an excellent way to build up early literacy, and preschool storytimes will prepare your child for kindergarten.
10875 Main Street STE 113, Fairfax, Virginia 22030
Tiny Dancers is a studio dedicated to introducing your Northern Virginia child to dance through mommy and me classes. You can begin with the Wiggletoes class for kids ages 2-3. They have turned these sessions into a fun way for you to bond with your child as you help them through the moves. As your child learns to dance, they are working on additional cognitive skills such as listening and working as a group.
25 E First St SE Suite #1, Leesburg, Virginia 20175
Little Tots Music Together was founded under the same company as Music Together Vivo. It similarly operates out of several locations, including the Catoctin School of Music in Leesburg. They offer a mixed-age class with their Family Style Course. You can also try out a Babies Only course as well as classes for kids ages 3-4 and ages 4-8.
12300 Price Club Plaza, Fairfax, Virginia 22030
British Swim School offers classes in indoor pools across Northern Virginia. These courses can help your child develop a healthy love and respect for the water while learning life-saving skills. They offer classes for babies as young as 3 months. You will be in the water with your baby as they kick, blow bubbles, and play games.
With mommy and me classes in Northern Virginia, you will have the perfect way to bond with your baby as you build connections across the community. Check out these classes so you can decide if they’re right for you.
