About DC Birth Doulas
DC Birth Doulas is a team of 14 women (six birth doulas, six postpartum doulas, and two lactation consultants) dedicated to caring for and educating families welcoming new babies. Since 2015, they have supported over 2000 families in the DC area to have a better birth experience. With such a large team of qualified, highly-trained doulas, you will surely receive the prenatal, birth, and postpartum care you need while bringing your new baby into the world.

They’ll also always place you and your family at the heart of your customized care, supporting you emotionally, physically, informationally, and socially in the best ways for you.
Services
DC Birth Doulas offers services a la carte, as well as in all-inclusive packages. The Birth and Beginnings Bundles offered by DC Birth Doulas include prenatal, birth, and postpartum care for a fully comprehensive experience. You will feel supported throughout your journey.
Throughout your pregnancy, you’ll learn essential tips and knowledge in their:
- 6-hour Childbirth Prep Class, and
- 6-hour Postpartum Recover, Newborn Care, and Infant Feeding Class.
You’ll also have access to their weekly pregnancy peer support circles. You can meet and bond with other expectant parents and their weekly pregnancy mindful movement classes.
For your birth, you’ll have unlimited email and phone support leading up to your labor and delivery and a one-on-one prenatal consultation with your doula. Throughout your birth experience, your doula will:
- help guide comfort and positions,
- validate your choices,
- advocate for you and your partner, and
- offer hands-on comfort.
For postpartum care, your package includes 16 hours of in-home daytime postpartum support and 8 hours of overnight doula support. This allows you and your partner to get a little extra rest in the comfort of your home. Similarly to their prenatal classes, you’ll also have access to their postpartum support circles and postpartum movement and infant massage series. Not to mention, you’ll also have a 1-hour counseling session with a Certified Lactation Counselor!
These services also come a la carte, although their pricing truly incentivizes the comprehensive bundles.
