7 Washington DC Baby Stores Beloved by the Community!

A new mom sits on a bed snuggling with her newborn baby in a blue top and white pants washington dc baby stores

As a mom, I know the only thing babies fly through faster than diapers might be clothes. Babies might have more outfit changes between spit-up and growth spurts than a major theater production. While I’ll always have a special affection for hand-me-downs and cute tees from big box stores, sometimes a mom just wants to shake things up when dressing her child for the season, and what better place than at some local Washington DC baby stores? Even for expecting mamas, some of the most fun shopping trips are picking out onesies and headbands for your growing bundle of joy. So, check out some of these stores I love, and I hope you find something beautiful for your baby.

Little Birdies Boutique™

Little Birdies Boutique, established in 2013, has spent ten years in the business as an online store offering upscale children’s clothing, shoes, and accessories for newborns up to size 14. Perfect for those who prefer a little southern charm, Little Birdies Boutique describes itself as “offering nostalgic traditional clothing mixed in with fun, playful styles.” Just the thing for a stylish baby from our nation’s capital!

Many styles also come monogrammed, ideal for daycare, preschool, or just remembering which blanket belongs to which kid. As for being the coolest mom on the block, Little Birdies Boutique has an entire section dedicated to moms, brimming with accessories, pajama sets, and jewelry.

Child’s Play Toys

Not only does Child’s Play Toys have a fantastic selection of toys, but they also host frequent events to let you try them out! You’re welcome to shop in-store and online, with the option to either have your order shipped to your home or set up for pick-up at the store. A local treasure, as of this year, Pink and Brown Boutique has been serving families in the community for fifteen years.

Three Littles

Right in the heart of DC, Three Littles is a small independent retailer with varying stock that carries apparel, toys, bath items, nursery plushes and blankets, and much more. They also carry home goods made for adults, ranging from candles and jewelry to greeting cards and diaper fanny packs.

Their strollers are the most variable in stock because of their commitment to custom options and customer satisfaction in getting precisely what you want. Even deeper is Three Littles’ commitment to sustainability, driven by the belief that “nothing our kids play with should be made by a child somewhere else and that toys should stand the test of time…instead of just another thing that ends up in a landfill.”
